Reading no.1

When it comes to reading, one of my english teachers throughout the years told me to read a book with I am very familiar that in czech language, since it will be easier for me to understand the context and some words which I am not familiar with. For those reasons I  chose Harry Potter as the first in line of many books I read in english. I am a big fan of the series, so it was natural for me to pick this one. English in it is classical british english, but due to the fact its written, it introduced me to certain words and expressions only found in british english without damaging my accent, since my teacher in high school told I am  stuck in some sort of limbo where I speak with american accent and then I switch to british accent for some words or expressions, and that while its gramatically correct, it sound really wierd and that I should stick to one accent only. The book series itself is very entertaining and I would recommend it to anyone from a beginner to an avanced eglish student.
