My first essay for school had a form of a report. It was something new for me since I never wrote essays like that in high school. While the form itself was quite easy, the evaluation from my teacher came with some pretty serious stuff. For instance repeating of words, excessive use of colloquialisms etc. Since then I try to stay out of said things by writing something, reading it back and try to find synonyms for words I think are repeating much and try to stay out of colloquailsm. While its hard sometimes to pinpoint a certain words that I think are good but end up being another colloquialisms. To battle  this, I started to read news and articles from BBC. It helps a little but I still have a long way to go. 

Report on Heavy Metal Music Festival

Introduction

The aim of this report is to

• Give an report about festival facilities
• Try and offer a solution for said problems
• New ideas

Since I am one of the organizers and I have been in the center of all this, the only research I did was ask a few festivalgoers online about their preferences.

Report

The musical part of festival was flawless, much better than last year since we learned from our mistakes and hire a better sound engineer, borrowed better soundsystem, and really thought through setlist of bands this year. When it comes to a facilities, I have witnessed some major flaws. First, the portable toilets, I do not know what happened, since it was not my job, but it cannot happen again. I mean seriously we need to change a company or something because overflowing toilets just after one day thats unbeareble. Also showers. There was not enough showers. People were stacking againts the showers, which created a wall of people so big, that people who went from camp to festival needed to take a different route.

Solution

When it comes to sanitary facilities, we need to hire a new company, and probably more of said toilets. When it comes to placement, I think it was well done. Close to the camps and festival itself, but too close to smell anything. But we definitely need to hire a new company, the last one was unprofessional and violated their contract. When it comes to showers, we need more of them, and a better placement in the camp. That way we can avoid the massive crowd of people that happened almost every morning, but it will also help our cleaning crew, since the people created an alternative road from camp to the festival and left a lot of trash behind.

New Ideas

As one festivalgoer pointed out, there is not much to do for people who came for only one band per day. I am playing with idea of creating a small cinema in nearby pub. They have a room for smal concerts that would be perfect for it, since it already has a PA. And because owner is a fan of the festival since he usually make about 25 percent of his year profit during this festival, I think it will be easy to negotiate a good deal with him . I will probably bring this topic up on our first festival meeting for a year 2018.
